Who hasn’t dreamed of just putting everything up for sale, walking out the front door, and hopping onto a plane for another country?
I’m sure every single person in a moment of honesty would admit it’s popped into their head before.
There was an old Simpsons episode where the family was moving away from Springfield but didn’t know what to do with their home. Marge commented, “Even if we sold the house, it wouldn’t come close to paying off the mortgage.” So, in the most Simpsons-way possible, they hammered a sign across the front door proclaiming “Abandoned,” then packed up the car, including all the things Homer took from Ned, and drove off.
I’m not suggesting you abandon your home. Heck, in today’s market, you’d probably get well over what the thing is worth.
