7 Countries That Offer Real Estate Residency Visas For Under $300K

For some, Donald Trump announcing a $5 million “Gold Card” was their first exposure to the world of golden visas. A rather prominent practice around the globe, it offers wealthier individuals a means of skipping the traditional line and receiving residency (if not citizenship) within a few weeks.
However, the vast majority of golden visas are out of the reach of average, hard-working people. While $5 million does stand as the most expensive golden visa in the world, most people don’t have the half-million sitting around to buy residency in other nations offering a similar scheme — especially if the money doesn’t go towards any kind of return on investment.
This is why real estate investment citizenships are the best of both worlds. Countries with such a setup give individuals buying properties at a minimal set value residency, and then potentially citizenship, if the property is owned for a set amount of time (usually five years).
