7 European Digital Nomad Visas That Lead to Residency
You can gain European residency in as little as two years.
Digital nomad visas (DNV) offer remote workers the ability to live in foreign countries, often for years at a time. The idea is to bring individuals into a country for extended periods who won’t take up local jobs and instead will pump cash into the economy.
While there is an arguable impact on the local real estate market, remote workers generally bring in a financial net positive into most communities. It also has forced the hands of countries throughout the world to roll out their own DNVs. Just this year alone, popular holdouts such as Japan and Italy have joined the constantly growing list of nations with some variation of a DNV.
With all of that said, maybe you have your eye on moving to Europe, but not just for a few years. You want to make a life of it. You want to gain, at the very least, residency, and maybe even citizenship.
The beautiful thing about obtaining a European passport is that, if it is part of the EU, you have clear passage throughout the region. It’s just about the equivalent of crossing state lines in the U.S. It makes buying properties in other countries easier as well.
