Ahaha, that tiny slice. You're in Kansas for about 4 seconds. SoCal to Flagstaff is a good stretch. It really dials up the kitsch and Americana. Winslow (I'm sure you've been many times while around Flagstaff) is a nice spot.

I have a couple of uncles around ABQ. I had to stop at the hot dog joint from Breaking Bad while in town. And back then, the owners of the Walter White House hadn't put up Fort Knox-levels of security around it.

Should I ever drive the full route again I'd love to spend more time in the historic hotels. But I was trying to do it on the cheap and I had two dogs...made it tricky.
