Gender reveal parties really bother me. Beyond the fact it's just kind of a tacky trend. The fact that the first big party for an eventual child could entirely be incorrect is such a problem. Of course, it's the parents making it about themselves and not the child. Because gender identity of the brain and sexual organs do not develop at the same time, the party is, very much, celebrating what organs a child is born with. Odd...and creepy...when you peel back all the layers.

I guess people are going to celebrate what they want to. Sometimes there's not a ton you can do about it. The one good thing is at least the child won't have any knowledge of the party the parents gave themselves.
