Thanks for reading the article! I'll admit I was a bit surprised at first by some of the blowback. But then again, I've received death threats on others, so maybe I should take it as a compliment? Ha. Anyway, completely understand the practicality of keeping it, especially with kids, professional environments, changing all those financial documents, and so on. Kind of a major pain I'm sure. I've been living in South America of late and I find their last name sharing to be rather interesting. Nobody changes their last name, although the child takes on the last name of one parent (typically the father). Perhaps going that route would solve all of our problems!
