One of the big reasons I moved out of the United States was to save cash.

Well, also to get away from U.S. politics, gun violence, Big Pharma, but mostly to save cash. That was the driving factor. The others, let’s call them additional benefits.

I’ve called South America home for the past three years or so. First Peru, then Argentina. The current political and economic situation in Argentina is unfortunate and likely will cause me to move (eyeballing Europe), but even so, there are very specific ways I have been able to save money here.

And, the thing is, even when I move, I’ll be able to save money in the exact same way. The total dollar amount will likely change (unless I end up in Albania or Croatia, in which case things could become even cheaper).

But I wanted to write about the ways I save money and, if you decide to move out of the U.S., how you can save money as well.

What I’m Not Spending Money On

Probably the biggest money saver when moving out of the United States is what I’m not spending money on.
