How to Add Your Own Audio Narration to a Medium Article

Medium said you can’t add your own narration. But yes, you can.

Recently, Medium added the option to listen to an AI voice narrate on any platform article.

I tried it once on one of my articles. I hated it.

For my articles, most of which I bleed myself into as I tackle everything from divorce to death, the sound of a monotone AI just didn’t work. Stripped of substance and emotion, the voice feature might work on more technical articles. Heck, it might even work for this one. But as someone who sometimes likes to narrate certain stories with the addition of sound effects and music, it simply doesn’t work for me.

In the post announcing the AI voice feature, put out by the powers that be at Medium, it said at the moment authors are not able to provide their own voice over.

Wrong.

That’s 100% not the case at all.

You absolutely can record your audio and embed it into your article. It’s free, easy to do, and it is a great way to jazz up old articles.

So, if you’ve ever wanted to add your own narration, or you’re simply curious, here’s what you need to do.

You might hate my first story, but maybe you’ll like the next. Ever dream of moving out of the U.S.? I wrote a book that can help: https://t.ly/OcQYG
