I rarely write fiction on here (in my experience, few people actually read fiction on Medium). Believe it or not, the vast majority of my stories on Medium were of life events, such as this. Many readers connect...I think because most of us like to know, deep down, that others go through similar crap in life. The publications that I'd normally post this stuff to have shut down so I don't write this stuff as often (even though I tend to get the largest readership/response from them). While I much prefer to write about travel, visiting other countries, and experience in those new places, I like to think of my brand as traveling through life and my experiences along the way (this happened a good 14 years ago). I realize not all of my stories are for everyone, but I think sometimes it's good to share, just to let other people know that it's okay if they are dealing with something similar.
