I think there's a bit of an issue with using a singular TikTok video and using it to paint a wider picture of millennials. Most millennials don't blame "Boomers". But they are frustrated when they're lectured by Boomers who obviously are so entirely out of their element and clueless to current financial requirements.

When I have a Boomer roll their eyes, scoff about the cost of college while adding they "worked part time and paid their way through college," they are openly admitting they are entirely ignorant to the situation. The cost of a college education in the 70s/80s is the cost of a Big Mac today (JK...kind of). But the reality is, freshman in state tuition for Michigan State is over $30K (per year). In state tuition in places like Oregon or California are over $50K. If I could make $50K part time, why would I go to college? We're not blaming Boomers for that, but we're also tired of Boomers blaming us for not willing to work.

And the number of out of touch comments here just shows it. "Boomers" complaining of having to sell their homes or living comfortably until their 70s when medical costs hit. Younger generations are financially ruined the moment they graduate college. They don't have a good 40 or 50 or 60 years before medical costs hit.

There would also be more younger Walmart greeters, but Walmart doesn't hire people with college degrees, because they know those people have aspirations for better jobs.

Younger generations, as a whole, aren't blaming Boomers. We're just tired of being lectured by people who are out of touch and that yes, had a more comfortable life and actually had opportunities.

I myself had to leave the United States just to realistically make ends meet.

So while people need to stop pointing fingers, people also need to listen as well.
