I work remotely. Writing is my full-time job (I've been doing that for a good decade now). But my total living expenses are $1K (this includes rent, utilities, cell phone, food, medical expenses, etc.) and I always have money left over. I'm taking what I'm saving and putting it on student loans. I took the loans out, I'll pay them off (I just wish the interest rate was reasonable).
