It doesn't bother me that the food is French. It bothers me that there's not really any options. There's basically two "delis" with pre-packaged sandwiches that always have crazy lines, and then a spot with caviar. It just feels like it goes out of its way to not be flyer friendly. Just my personal opinion, but if the second best food option is the duty free shop, something is wrong. I would say most of the major Asian airports have found a way to have both high-end options and plenty of other restaurants/amenities, but Asian airports are on an entirely different level (haven't been to San Fran airport...for me I'd say my favorite US one is the Detroit international terminal).
