It’s Time to (Possibly) Say Goodbye
As George Costanza once said, “That’s it for me! I’m Outta here!”
Nearly seven years ago, I sat down in front of my computer and wrote.
I didn’t know what to write about. Frankly, I didn’t know what anyone would want to read. After all, what could little ol’ me have to say that others would find interesting?
Well, nobody read that first story. Or my next several. Eventually, a few people trickled in. Made a quarter here or there. But it was a good deal of work for only a few pennies, so I pushed Medium aside and looked elsewhere.
When COVID hit, most of my writing work went belly up. So, I had nowhere else to turn but Medium. Again, I didn’t know what anyone would find interesting, but I wrote what came to the heart.
A story about divorce, and what we all learn from it, connected with readers. Eventually, I hit 100 subscribers and it blew my mind. Wow. 100 people wanted to read what I had to say enough to subscribe.
Fast forward to 2024. I’d figured out my niche in writing was about my life. I shared events from my past and my present and what I hoped the future would hold. Maybe you liked to read about the drama of a disastrous wedding/divorce. Or that other people go through depression when on their own. Perhaps…
