Lack of any communication on what's going on is truly troubling (especially for a writing platform).

Laying the financial tank job on monthly fluctuations is a pure smoke screen.

It's also troubling when you're hiring positions that clear $300K in salary/benefits, but author pay per read is at an all-time low, and even Boosted articles barely make anything now.

Quality authors are leaving, and they are taking readers with them. This needs to get sorted out immediately (and we need to be informed on what's going on), otherwise more will continue to jump this sinking ship.
