Medium Is Dying. Follow Me.
This is specifically for you.
If you’re reading this it’s because you’ve taken the time out of your busy day to read other works of mine and have decided to follow my profile.
First of all, I just want to let you know how meaningful that is to me. The fact that you’d read my work and often comment really means a great deal. We may have even shared a few back and forths in the comments section (and if I missed some of yours I’m sorry. I don’t mean to. Sometimes I see a comment on my phone and then forget when I’m on my desktop).
I’m willing to bet that you came across one of my stories that directly connected to you. It was raw, emotional, and yet similar to an experience you’ve had in your own life. I’ve long tried to make sure I don’t sugar coat anything. I want to present life, warts and all because that’s life.
The thing is you may have noticed some changes of late.
I was told specifically to stop writing about those kinds of subjects.
Additionally, and I’m paraphrasing a bit here, but I was told to dumb down other content and walk readers through how it relates to them.
I hate doing that.
You’re a smart individual. You don’t need someone to tell you when a situation is similar to one of your own. You know it. You feel it. It makes your heart sag or your breathing quicken. It plunges you into memories of your own experiences.
You don’t need me to tell you, “this is how it relates to you.”
I can go on and on.
But I want to keep this as short as possible.
I’m still going to write what I can on Medium, but I’m looking for a better way to deliver the same kind of quality, heartfelt, and emotionally driven content to you. Unedited (god, if you only knew the butchering going on with some of my posts).
This is why I’m asking you select to sign up for my email list. Don’t worry, I don’t send out notifications for every article I write. I almost never do it. Instead, when I figure out a better way to deliver my content to you I want to be able to let you know.
I want to provide audio readings for all of my publications to you. Just offer you a better experience with what I have going on in my own head.
Medium just isn’t what it once was.
I can get into all of that late.
But if you could opt into my email list, it would be extremely helpful with how I eventually deliver content to you in the future.
And once again, thank you so much for spending your time with me. I look forward to so much more of it.
