Oh, I could only imagine what the Cayman Islands costs today. I just put together digital nomad/retirement visa info on all the Caribbean...and the Cayman Islands was one of the most expensive. Although the Caribbean in general is rather unique. It's either extremely cheap or extremely expensive with very little middle ground.
It would be interesting to put together a basic price comparison. If I was to speculate, I'd have to say the French islands are probably most expensive, and while Spain in general is affordable, you'd have to pay Spanish taxes. Again, just guessing, but I'd have to think Greece/Turkey would be the most affordable options (avoiding the tourist spots). But I think a more in-depth financial analysis would be beneficial.
