Ohh, it really depends. Various ways. Some digital nomad visas can lead to residency/citizenship. With some countries you can buy a property with a minimum value and you'll get a golden visa. You can get European residency in 2 years by going to Latvia if you wanted to speed the process up.

But I'm super high on places along the eastern Adriatic at the moment (Croatia, Montenegro, and Albania). Heck, with Albania you're given a year-long tourist visa with a US passport.

But, I agree. The longer I'm out of the US, and the more I see the various problems...housing costs, healthcare, gun violence, the less I want to move back.
