Sure, protests can/are organized by various parties and abused. Protesting is very much a way of life in Latin America, and there were always demonstrations around the presidential palace (many regarding the rights or aboriginal citizens--which is a totally different onion to peel back). But the rebuking of protester rights in Argentina draws unfavorable connections with the 1970s dictatorship...and coupled with the new president's denial of deaths from the country's dirty war, that, to me, is cause for at least monitoring, if not concern (plus his removal of all the human rights cabinets is another red flag. Heck, he wanted to remove the health minister but was talked into keeping that position).
