The "down payment" really is based on the village. I've seen some as low as 2,500, and others are much higher. You're right that the majority of these properties are in small, out of the way villages. For some this might be ideal. For others, not at all. There are some towns that are still on bus and train routes, which is helpful.

I wish I could recall the woman's name, but there is a woman on TikTok that tours these properties and shows them off (both the good and the bad). It's pretty interesting.
